Linda Gelda is a ceramic artist who has been working with clay since the age of 16. In fact, she uses the same 2-speed potters wheel as she did in high school. Linda works in the Boston area and in New Hampshire, with a backdrop of the White Mountains. Using both the wheel and hand building, she creates functional vases, bowls, pitchers and platters made from stoneware, porcelain and raku. Each piece is unique, evocative, and full of life. In addition to making art, Linda is a practicing psychoanalyst. Practicing psychotherapy and making ceramics is not such a strange marriage. One is highly interactive and verbal. The other is meditative and solitary. Both involve the creation of something new and are life enhancing. |
